Millennium Charter Academy is governed by an independent board of directors, who meet regularly at 5:30 PM on the last Tuesday of each month in the school’s main office conference room. This is an open meeting, and if you would like to be on the agenda, please see the headmaster in advance.

Susan Campbell
Board Member
Susan Campbell is a former parent of three MCA students and is currently a partner at Campbell Law Group, PLLC, in Mount Airy, NC.

Marty Danley
Board Member
Marty Danley received a Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He is currently employed in Human Resources with HanesBrands in Winston-Salem as a HRIM Manager. Mr. Danley and his family live in Ararat, NC, and his son, William, is a graduate of MCA.

Renee Francis
Board Chair
Renee Francis is a Mount Airy native and graduate of North Surry High School. Mrs. Francis went on to earn her Associates in Science degree from Surry Community College, attend the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and graduate from Gardner Webb University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Since then, she has taken and enjoyed many continuing education classes. Her youngest child, Jordan, finished nine years at Millennium, attending K-8 before there was a high school. Mrs. Francis has always been an active supporter of MCA, first serving as an active mom, then treasurer and later as president of MPACT (Millennium Parents and Concerned Teachers). One of Mrs. Francis’ biggest desires is to see MCA continue to give the parents of this area a choice for superior academic standards in their child’s education from kindergarten through the twelfth grade.

Mark Hampton
Board Member
Mr. Hampton grew up in King and left there to attend UNCG where he received a Bachelor’s degree in philosophy. After openly proclaiming to anyone who would listen that he could never again live in King, he moved back in 1994 with his wife Lara. They currently live at the foot of Sauratown Mountain with their two sons, Oscar and Wyn, who are both MCA graduates. Mr. Hampton and his wife own and operate Hampton House Art and Framing in King and Winston-Salem. They are thrilled to be longtime members of the MCA community.

David Hiatt
Board Member
David P. Hiatt, who was chair of Millennium’s founding board, is a Surry County native. He received a Bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He has practiced law in Mount Airy for more than twenty-five years. Mr. Hiatt and his wife, Maria, are the parents of four children, two of whom are former MCA students.

Christopher Willingham
Board Member
Mr. Willingham grew up in the Washington, DC suburb of Bethesda, Maryland and came to North Carolina in 1991 to attend Davidson College. He has served as Vice President of YourOffice USA, a provider of on-demand office space and business services, since December 1999. He supports all aspects of the company’s location development efforts, including the facility opening process, equipment platforms, technology, and national accounts. He is also responsible for ongoing training, technology, and operations support. Prior to this position, Christopher served in various other roles within YourOfficeUSA since the late 1990s, including Director of Research and Area Developer for North Carolina. Mr. Willingham resides on the Mitchell River in Mountain Park, North Carolina, with his wife and three children, who are all graduates of MCA. He is also a published author and award-winning, public speaker.
