We are an independent public school, serving grades kindergarten through twelve, charging no tuition and open to all.

We teach a classical, liberal arts curriculum.

We strive to create intelligent, virtuous citizens.

We seek truth, goodness, and beauty in all that we do.

Classical Education is the foundation of our school.

MCA offers a curriculum and culture in the classical, liberal arts tradition founded and practiced for centuries in Western civiization, integrating the humanities, the arts, and the sciences. It is a whole curriculum for the whole person.

The Three Pillars of MCA

From the start, students receive a solid base of content knowledge, interacting with that knowledge in innovative ways. Throughout their years at MCA, students learn to think well about the content they’ve learned and then learn to articulate their own views, speaking well, writing well, and engaging in civil public discourse.

We maintain high aspirations for our student body, highlighted by our Honor Code and our Expectations and Habits posted in every classroom. The goal of our principle-based discipline is the development of strong convictions about truth and virtue in our students.

Whether learning from or contributing to the community, locally or globally, our students use their passions and resources in helping others. Students connect to the community through frequent field trips, raising funds for those in need, or participating in civic activities.

Juniors had a great day touring High Point University and exploring many of its buildings including the brand new basketball arena in addition to the state-of-the-art planetarium located in the Wanek School of Natural Sciences. One lucky group even got a chance to meet the president of the college, Dr. Nido Qubein! After seeing HPU, students enjoyed a collegiate lunch at the UNC Greensboro Elliott Student Union, taking in the university bookstore, Kaplan Commons, and various views of an inviting UNCG campus nestled into the heart of the Greensboro. Students enjoyed having the opportunity to see college life in person as they continue to discern their futures and determine what type of college will best form them and help them achieve their goals. ... Congratulations to the dialectic (middle school) varsity team on taking third place in the NC Association for Scholastic Activities The Quill regional writing competition. On November 3, MCA students competed for the first time ever in this competition. Sixteen students from grades 6-12 competed with students in eight neighboring schools. Each student wrote in one of six different text types: argumentative, informational, creative, problem solution, narrative, and literary analysis essays. After winning third place, MCA's dialectic school team will travel to Kinston, NC, on December 4 to represent MCA at the state competition. Congratulations and best wishes to Rebecca White, Shelby Kiefer, Maddie Cardwell, and Dallas Ashburn as they continue on to the state level, as well as congratulations to Lily Thomas, Abigail Bowen, Laney Robertson, Ada Wilson, Daniel Shinault, River Edge, and Brooks Harold for wins in the competition as well!
