Tamy Fitzpatrick – EC Teacher
Tamy Fitzpatrick graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from North Carolina State University, where she was also a member of the gymnastics team. She also has a Master’s Degree in Special Education, and she is certified in BEH, LD, and AIG. She lives in Pilot Mountain, NC, with her husband Michael, and her two younger sons, both of whom attend MCA.They have four older children who have already graduated college.

Susan Gunter – PE Teacher
Susan Gunter is MCA’s physical education teacher with a Bachelor of Science from Radford University in K-12 and with six years of teaching experience before joining MCA in 2005. She enjoys swimming, skiing, and biking, and is learning white water canoeing and kayaking. She lives in Patrick County, VA, with her husband, Keith, and three children. She hopes to encourage a life style of physically-fit living for all MCA students.

Mary McCormick – Art Teacher
Mary McCormick has been MCA’s art instructor since 2005. She graduated from UNC-Pembroke with a BS in Art Education, and she has a Master of Fine Arts from Ohio University. Before coming to MCA, she taught art in schools in NC and VA for thirteen years. She also taught art and photography at Appalachain State University and at Surry Community College. Mrs. McCormick lives in Mt. Airy with her husband Greg, who is also an artist, and her son, Joey, an MCA student, who says he’s an artist too!

Mrs. Moore earned her undergraduate degree in Special Education from Salem College, taught three years in Surry County Schools (one in regular education and two in special Exceptional Children Program). She will complete her
Masters degree from Liberty University in Teaching and Learning: Special Education in December 2018. She has two young children.

Rodney Money – Music Teacher
Rodney Money, born in King, NC, graduated from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC, with dual Bachelors of Music in Music Composition and Music Education. He studied music theory and composition with Dr. Scott Meister and trumpet with Dr. William L. Jones of the Hayes School of Music at Appalachian. Mr. Money’s compositions are inspired by many different factors in his life. One of the most influential events was the untimely death of his mother to cancer when he was only ten years-old. He is also influenced by his incredible passion for parrots and their conservation. Mr. Money’s compositions are published under Alfred Reed and C. Alan Publications.

Charlie Sealey – Educational Technologist
Charlie Sealey attended Appalachian State University where he earned a BS in Middle Grades Education and a masters degree in Instructional Technology. Prior to coming to MCA, Mr. Sealey was a teacher, instructional technology facilitator and instructional specialist with Wilkes County Schools. He is married to Karen Sealey and has three children, Luke, Brooke and Katelyn. He is an avid disc golfer.

Lori Spencer – Librarian, Challenge Center Teacher
Mrs. Spencer was raised to know that her purpose in life was to “make a difference.” She started her higher education at Milligan College in Johnson City, Tennessee, where she earned a BS in education and social work. She worked at The Christian Children’s Home of Ohio, Mount Mission School in Grundy, VA, and Joy Ranch in Hillsville, VA. She earned a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction and is a licensed reading specialist. Mrs. Spencer began work at Millennium Charter Academy during its first year, and then worked in Alleghany County Schools for three years, returning to Millennium in 2007, where she presently enjoys every moment, making a difference in the lives of children. Mrs. Spencer resides in King with her husband,Brian, and three children who all attend Millennium.
