Mrs. Spencer was raised to know that her purpose in life was to "make a difference.” She started her higher education at Milligan College in Johnson City, Tennessee, where she earned a BS in education and social work.  She worked at The Christian Children's Home of Ohio, Mount Mission School in Grundy, VA, and Joy Ranch in Hillsville, VA. She earned a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction and is a licensed reading specialist.
            Mrs. Spencer began work at Millennium Charter Academy during its first year, and then worked in Alleghany County Schools for three years, returning to Millennium in 2007, where she presently enjoys every moment, making a difference in the lives of children. Mrs. Spencer resides in King with her husband,Brian, and three children who all attend Millennium.
