Kim Sawyers - 4th Grade Teacher

Kim Sawyers graduated from East Surry High School and attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte as a North Carolina Teaching Fellow. At UNCC, she received a degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in History. Following graduation, she taught with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System for four years. She has taught at Millennium Charter Academy since its opening in the fall of 2000. Ms. Sawyers is also a Core Knowledge consultant and spends her summers assisting other schools getting started in the Core Knowledge Curriculum.

Michelle Wertman - 4th Grade Teacher

  Michele Wertman lives in Pilot Mountain with her husband and two little girls. She graduated from Radford University in 1999 and began her career as a kindergarten teacher.  Since then she has taught 1st, 2nd, and 4th grades.

Ronalda Parries - 4th Grade Teacher

Ronalda Parries is excited to be one of MCA's fourth grade teachers. She obtained her Bachelor of the Arts degree in elementary education from Lees-McRae College. Mrs. Parries and her husband, Sean, live in Mt. Airy where they enjoy biking and running. Mrs. Parries says “Once I had my first encounter with Millennium I just couldn’t stay away, It is such an awesome school and I look forward to teaching and working with the Millennium family!”

Sandy Cave - 4th Grade Teaching Assistant

Sandy Cave graduated from Surry Community College with an associate's degree in Business Management. She enjoys working with children and spending time with her family. She has been at MCA since 2001.
