Phase One of the MCA Expansion Project was completed in May 2005.  This phase almost doubled the floor space of the facility by adding
                      *  Middle School & Additional Classrooms for grades 4 & 5
                      *  New Library, Computer Lab, and Science Lab
                      *  Student Instructional Art Classrom
                      *  Art Gallery
                      *  Two Athletic Fields
                      *  Administrative Suite
                      *  Second Lunch Room & Concession Area
                      *  Expanded Parking Areas

Oct 2005 - Ready for Grading
Nov 2005 - Grading the middle school wing ground, and packing the upper elementary pad.
Nov 2005 - Footings are dug and reinforced before pouring.
Nov 2005 - Pouring and smoothing the floor pad for the middle school.
Nov 2005 - Walls are poured and framed.
Dec  2005 - Walls are lifted.
Dec 2005 - Walls are standing and roofs supports go in.
Feb 2006 - Walls are up, roof is on, and work moves inside.
Mar 2006 - Framing the classroom walls.
Mar 2006 - View from the lower driveway.
May 2006 - Inside is finished!  Ready for occupancy and landscaping!

5th District Congresswoman Virginia Foxx spoke of the difference charter schools can make.
US Senator Richard Burr talked about how a community can come together and accomplish something great, such as MCA.
USDA representatives, Senator Burr, Congresswoman Foxx, and Ted Ashby from Surrey Bank hold the check for the government loan helping to finance the expansion.
Senator Burr and Congresswoman Foxx cut the ribbon to open the new facility.
