Angie Umstead - 3rd Grade Teaching Assistant

Angie Umstead graduated from Surry Community College with a Associates in Applied Science degree. She worked as a substitute teacher for 5 years before accepting the position as 3rd grade TA. Mrs. Umstead lives in Mt. Airy with her husband and children; her children are students at MCA.

Beverly Edwards - 3rd Grade Teacher

  Mrs. Edwards received her Bachelor in Elementary Education through the Lees- McRae program at Surry Community College.  She has taught third grade for eleven years, first in Alleghany County Schools before signing on at Millennium in 2008.  She loves music and drama and incorporates that into her teaching activities. 

Lori Spencer - 3rd Grade Teacher

  Mrs. Spencer was raised to know that her purpose in life was to "make a difference.” She started her higher education at Milligan College in Johnson City, Tennessee, where she earned a BS in education and social work.  She worked at The Christian Children's Home of Ohio, Mount Mission School in Grundy, VA, and Joy Ranch in Hillsville, VA. She earned a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction and is a licensed reading specialist.             Mrs. Spencer began work at Millennium Charter Academy during its first year, and then worked in Alleghany County Schools for three years, returning to Millennium in 2007, where she presently enjoys every moment, making a difference in the lives of children. Mrs. Spencer resides in King with her husband,Brian, and three children who all attend Millennium. 

Louise Wardle - 3rd Grade Teacher

Louise Wardle graduated from Long Island University, New York with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education. She then went on to receive a Masters Degree in Exceptional Student Education from Florida Atlantic University. Louise spent her first year of teaching in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She then moved back to her home in The Bahamas to teach in the International School System. Louise and her family moved to Mount Airy, her Mother’s home town, in the summer of 2008.
