MCA - Administrative Staff

MCA has a great administrative staff. These people help manage daily school affairs and keep things running for the faculty and students.

Tammy Simmons is the MCA Receptionist. She joined MCA in 2007, but she's spent many hours working as a volunteer prior to that. Tammy attended Surry Community College and lives in Ararat, NC, with her husband Chris and two children who are both MCA students. Tammy puts a fun and friendly voice on the phone for calls that come in, and she makes the Elementary Office a welcoming place for students, staff, and parents alike.

Pepper Rotenizer is the Middle School Office Manager. She joined MCA in 2005 with experience in office administration from the Mt. Airy City School System. Mrs. Rotenizer greets students and visitors and handles all student and faculty lunch menus and orders, as well as many, many other miscellaneous things that come up every day. Mrs. Rotenizer enjoys music and singing, and performs at various venues in the community. She has even produced a CD! Mrs. Rotenizer lives in Mt. Airy with her husband Miles.

Lu Ann Browne is MCA's Director of Development, which is a position formed to promote understanding, acceptance, and support of the mission and philosophy of the school in the surrounding area. She loves her work because it allows her to present MCA to the community and prospective parents. With a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from UNC-Charlotte, Mrs. Browne is also Director of IT, supporting MCA's technology infrastructure of desktops, laptops, interactive white boards, and AV equipment, another job she loves because she gets to "play" with technology every day. Mrs. Browne lives in White Plains with her husband Charlie, and her two daughters, both of which attend MCA

Shanda Lawson is MCA's Administrative Assistant and Business Manager. She graduated from Surry Community College with an Associate's Degree in Office Technology, and worked fifteen years in an office environment at a local industry before becoming a stay-at-home mom for 5 years. Mrs. Lawson joined MCA in 2007. She lives in Mount Airy and is the proud mother of an MCA student.
